Michael McLendon is an award-winning film producer, spoken word artist, journalist and actor. A Mississippi-native, he has provided spoken word tributes for music artists such as Dorinda Clark-Cole, Twinkie Clark, Marvin Sapp and Kim Burrell as well as shared the stage with CeCe Winans, Jonathan Butler and Shonka Dukerah. He received a Stellar Award nomination for his spoken word project, The Diallo Experience, and has appeared in various independent film projects.
Michael has taught journalism and communications at his undergraduate alma mater, Tougaloo College as well as Knoxville College and Talladega College. He has worked as a media specialist for Mercer University-Atlanta, Tougaloo College and Tennessee State University, where he also served as director of publications and director of the center for media arts and production. At Environmental Community Action he serves as the marketing and communications manager, using his diverse media skills to support communities throughout Georgia as they empower themselves to eliminate air, land and water pollution.
