Participatory Group Model Building is a systematic way of engaging stakeholders and community members to develop a mental model of a complicated problem and then use that model to identify solutions to the problem. In a series of facilitated meetings, the interested parties discuss the factors contributing to a problem, the factors that result from the problem, and then how everything is inter-connected. For REACH-Atlanta, participants discussed how climate change worsens the health conditions of asthma, obesity, and mental health. They then use these models to identify potential solutions.
