• Preference will be given to those who live in  Chattahoochee, Flint, and South/Ocmulgee Rivers, as well as residents of Clayton County, South Fulton, and the following creek watersheds: Proctor Creek, Sandy Creek, and Utoy Creek in West Atlanta; Intrenchment Creek and Camp Creek in South Atlanta. Residents from Upper Flint River communities near Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, along with those in other watersheds, will also be considered.

• Commit to participate fully in training sessions. This includes eight 4-hour educational sessions, on designated Saturdays starting on April 26, 2025. All sessions are mandatory to attend. (6 module classes, 1 watershed tour, and their Graduation Ceremony). 

• Commit to signing an MOU with AWLN and completing a capstone project as part of the series, requiring additional time beyond the scheduled learning sessions.

• Participants who attend all sessions and complete all homework assignments will receive a stipend to be paid in two installments, after the Watershed tour and after the graduation ceremony.

Participants who successfully complete the program will receive a stipend of $700.
